About Us

As a child, I would collect things that would normally get thrown away and try to repurpose them. Purses out of old torn up jeans, costume wings from broken hangers and grocery store twist ties. As a young adult living on her own, I looked for different ways to make a conscious difference. I daydreamed of being able to live completely self sustainably.

While that life doesn't work for every individual or family, I think it's important for people to have the ability to make ethical choices whenever possible. From the clothes on our backs to the food we eat and more, every choice we make has an impact.

Textile manufacturing is one of the biggest contributors to worldwide pollution and carbon emissions thanks to fast fashion and ready-to-wear mass manufactured clothing lines in big box and department stores. It is also notorious for underpaid labor, child labor, and even slave labor.

With Guilt Free Gear, I'm so happy to be able to not only support but also share beautiful ethically sourced clothing, in both materials and labor, that I personally love!
